Sealing cracks in asphalt pavements can maintain pavement structural integrity while limiting future pavement deterioration.  Effective crack sealing can extend pavement life in a cost effective manner by slowing the rate of degradation with a well planned Pavement Maintenance System.  Simply stated, sealing cracks and joints in pavements extends the service life of the surface treatment and the pavement.

Propex Petrotac® Waterproofing Membrane

Petrotac® is a factory pre-coated version of the Petromat interlayer system manufactured in strip form for the treatment of local pavement distress such as over joints, cracks, and potholes. Petrotac® has a rubberized asphalt coating with a tackifier allowing the simple peel-and-stick hand application. Petrotac® is thicker than the Petromat system allowing it to absorb more stress, making it more appropriate over slightly active joints and cracks. The factory applied rubberized asphalt coating forms a continuous moisture barrier and therefore Petrotac® is approved in many states as a bridge deck waterproofing membrane. However, wide area waterproofing is not achieved if only random strips of Petrotac are used such as when strip treating a joint pattern.

Crafco Geotac

Peel-and-Stick Waterproofing Membrane is designed specifically to be used as a moisture barrier.  It prevents water permeation or penetration through pavement surfaces & subsequent damage that moisture can cause.  Available in 12”, 18”, 24”, 36” and 48” widths.

High Strength Peel-and-Stick Waterproofing Membrane specially designed polymer modified asphalt adhesive that is bonded to a high strength woven polyester fabric backing. The adhesive layer strongly adheres to most surfaces and provides a highly effective moisture barrier.  Available in 12”, 18”, 36” and 48” widths.

PavePrep

A highly effective stress relief interlayer material consisting of high-density mastic between two layers of rugged polyester fabric. Installed in strips over cracked, spalled concrete or asphalt, PavePrep intercepts and reduces the stresses induced by thermal expansion and contraction, thereby reducing the tendency of crack reflecting through the overlay.

PavePrep SA (Self-Adhesive)

High-density mastic, laminated with tough woven polyester designed to withstand the loads encountered by highway traffic and stress concentrations at pavement joints and cracks. PavePrep SA´s dense and flexible mastic reduces crack reflection through the overlay. PavePrep SA installation is quick, economic and does not require any special equipment.  PavePrep SA does not require a separate bonding adhesive application to install, since they incorporate an adhesive layer.

PavePrep TSA (Thin Self-Adhesive)

A high-density mastic laminated with a tough woven polyester designed to withstand the loads encountered by highway traffic and stress concentrations at pavement joints and cracks. PavePrep TSA´s dense and flexible mastic reduces crack reflection through the overlay. PavePrep TSA installation is quick, economic and does not require any special equipment. PavePrep TSA efficiency fits to the surfaces without any structural distress or drainage problems. “T” means this type is used for thinner asphalt overlays to the width 3cm to reduce shadowing of the membrane through the asphalt concrete layer.
